Yorkville University is currently recruiting part-time Course Designers for two-month, temporary contracts. The Course Designer will create the following courses for the Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy online program that Yorkville University is currently seeking approval for [Be sure to include in your cover letter which course(s) you would like to develop]:
DCP 8613. Doctoral Case Conference 1: Reflective Practice.
DCP 8443. Theories & Models of Counselling & Psychotherapy.
DCP 8623. Doctoral Case Conference 2. Advanced Competencies I.
DCP 8523. Evidence-Based Practice: Therapeutic Applications of Research.
The Course Designer works closely with the eLearning Project Manager and the Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy (DCP) Interim Director to ensure that course content adheres to Yorkville University’s and various stakeholder standards and online teaching pedagogy; Assist in the development of a contextually rich, engaging, and learning objective-driven course that focuses on applicable real-world/workplace skills; Develop a course syllabus that aligns with interactive online teaching and program learning outcomes; Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content based on new trends in interactive learning and academic practices in the field; Develop online modules using the recommended learning methods, assessment activities, course flow, Learning Management System (LMS) integration, educational technologies and other interactive course components; Provide a variety of exercises and activities that enhance the online teaching and learning process; Provide supporting material media such as (audio narrations, videos, PowerPoint presentations, simulations, role plays, etc.) to the instructional designers to use in the course design process; Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course and the engagement of learners in an online mode; Work with the eLearning Project Manager to identify students’ training needs.
Education and Licensure:
Doctorate in counselling/ psychotherapy or a related field;
Professional licensure/ registry in counselling/ psychotherapy or a closely related field.
Disciplinary and Sub-Disciplinary Expertise:
Familiarity with the educational, professional, and regulatory context of counselling and psychotherapy.
Priority will be given to qualified candidates who are able to contribute to the program’s learning outcomes related to social justice, diversity, and underserved populations.
At least 5 years applied practice experience (including, where applicable, doctoral internship and pre-doctoral licensed practice).
A record of sustained scholarly activity (which might include research and publication of research related to new knowledge in the field, integration of published scholarship and research into analyses that inform the understanding and practice of the profession, the application of published scholarship to problems in the practice of counselling and psychotherapy, and/or the application of scholarship to improvements in the teaching of counselling and psychotherapy).
