Platinum Pacific Partners is currently working with a well-known independent alternative fund in the search for a Risk & Compliance Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract. With investment mandates and offices in the Asia Pacific region, the last two years has been a busy period with total funds under management increasing. Although the role starts as a contract, this opportunity could suit someone interested in a long-term commitment to the fund.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the executive team, you will play a pivotal role in the firm's development and success across corporate and fund governance, compliance and risk management.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manage the relevant licence risks across the region, including management of regulatory relationship, reporting and monitoring of licences across various jurisdictions
Monitoring the risks of the business particularly during new product and fund launches, identify new risks and mitigating solutions
Actively work with the Head of Product and Chief Operating Officer in providing commercial based compliance input to new and existing product (Funds) development and launch; provide support to Product Lead
Assist with any client reporting (i.e. quarterly compliance reporting), including coordinating with middle and back office support functions
Maintain and build out Fund governance
Participate in developing and managing relationships with outsourced suppliers
Complete relevant compliance board and committee packs
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
You will be a person of influence with a proven risk and compliance track record derived from investment/funds management. Prior experience within a fund's management environment is essential, private equity or venture capital exposure, would be advantageous. It is essential that you can build strong and effective relationships both internally and externally and have demonstrated success in investment and fund management. The successful candidate must be tertiary qualified with Mandarin language skills highly desirable given the regional focus.
