Job Description We are looking for a qualified Desktop/Computer Technician to install, maintain and repair computers. Knowledge of networking and printer repair is a plus.
Responsibilities · Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers · Maintain and repair computers, laptops and peripheral devices · Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain secure · Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality · Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference · Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
Requirements · Proven experience as computer technician or similar role · Experience with LAN/WAN networks · Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components · Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles · Excellent troubleshooting skills · Very good communication abilities · Exceptional organizing and time-management skills · Relevant certifications will be an advantage
Software Products Include · Microsoft Windows 10 Pro & Windows 7 · Microsoft Office products · iSupport ticketing system · Symantec Altiris – Inventory/Asset tracking/ Imaging, software deployment, security patching · Symantec – antivirus and Encryption Desktop · eWorplace / VPN / Pulse Secure · IBM Notes – version 9 Social Edition (Email) · Pulse Secure · Micro Focus Reflection Desktop – (Terminal Emulator for VMS/Alpha & Mainframes)
These skills sets are a plus · AD Active Directory experience / adding PCs to Domain · Word/Excel skills · Desktop Management Suite to load software like Altiris · DOS commands · Hardware troubleshooting adding/swapping memory ( & laptops) · Hard drive encryption · Remote Access Tools – RDP, Dameware, GotoAssist · Installing Legacy Software on W10 · ODBC · Registry Edits with W10 & NTFS
Additional Considerations · Manufacturing Experience is preferred but not a requirement · Candidates will work in an office area, and in the plant requiring Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, long sleeve and other protective equipment · This is a contract programming position in the Information Technology group with an extremely high chance of being hired as an employee in a few years if they prove their worth and are patient
. Workspace will be provided in Butler, PA · 40 hour minimum work week is the norm; Some Overtime, Off-Shift, Weekend and on-call responsibilities · Flexible start time between 7am and 9am Monday through Friday · Start date is ASAP · Assignment has no end date. · Candidate is required to complete safety training and Drug & Alcohol testing before work can commence. Complete the OSHA 10 hour certification prior to starting
