Better requires process, discipline, and simplification You will report into the Senior Manager of Financial Crimes compliance, the Manager will support Western Union Business Solutions Australia and New Zealand, in ensuring it remains in compliance with its AML/CTF obligations, as well as global company polices. Your role will help manage the AML/CTF compliance program by ensuring regular compliance tasks are being undertaken to a satisfactory level by the senior analyst, and conducting quality assurance checks and monitoring of the compliance function. You'll have some supervisory responsibilities, and will be expected to understand the AML/CTF requirements, being able to transfer knowledge to the compliance team and the business where required. You will also be expected to identify any potential violation of the anti-money laundering or economic sanctions laws and regulation, understand transaction monitoring, review suspicious matters and determine whether a suspicious matter is reportable to the appropriate government agencies. You will also understand other regulatory reporting requirements, advising the Senior Manager on any identified non-compliance with AML or regulatory requirements, assist with matters requested by Internal/External Auditors and Examiners. Your role will assist in the preparation of management reports, including productivity/quality statistics, and keeping abreast of regulatory changes in Australia and New Zealand. Your role will also ensure that all compliance escalations are addressed correctly and in a timely manner by the compliance staff.
For such a significant role, we require you to have experience within Compliance or AML at a managerial level within financial services and having managed AML programs in the past. You will need to have worked with multiple financial products including payments, Foreign Exchange and have resolved compliance issues for these. An in-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape, including Australia/New Zealand AML regulations. Along with this you will need to be analytically minded and comfortable in communicating and presenting to senior management. Previous experience of agile working methodologies is also desirable.
