Under limited supervision job manages departmental research programs and/or clinical trials through collaboration with Pl for administrative and scientific protocol development and oversight of implementation for one or more complex study(s).
Comprehensive knowledge of theory behind research related to HIV and applies advanced analytical skills to manage the administrative and scientific implementation of three contracts with the BCHD/CDC, and to identify and resolve situations requiring special attention.
Utilizing this knowledge, will ensure adherence to research protocols, operating procedures, and all associated internal/external regulations.
Utilizing in-depth knowledge will manage through subordinates; the development of evaluation tools for three contracts, which include testing and evaluation manuals, questionnaires and coding structures, and internal/external regulatory required materials (e.g. IRB, NIH, etc...).
Responsible for preparing 6 month data reports and annual progress reports for the Evaluation Team/CCHR to provide to the CDC (funding agency).
Utilizing in-depth knowledge will collaborate with the Pl, Epidemiologist faculty and study team to develop; protocols, standard operating procedures, and to resolve study related issues.
Will be involved in scientific discussions with Pl, partner providers, BCHD project coordinators, faculty, and funding organizations.
Manage through subordinates; the development of moderately complex to complex tracking database/spreadsheet.
This will include ensuring quality data.
Utilizing comprehensive knowledge will analyze data and have significant participation in the drafting/writing of scientific manuscripts.
Coordinates and take meeting minutes for program meetings with multiple parties.
Recruits, disciplines, and evaluates performance of employees to retain a diverse workforce.
Administers and ensures compliance with human resources policies and procedures.
Observes and assesses work; provides feedback; may provide technical supervision; develops knowledge, skills and abilities of staff, students, faculty and/or other clients; plans and supports employees in career development opportunities.

Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
Five (5) years related experience.
Demonstrated supervisory or lead responsibilities.
Additional education may substitute for some experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits or 18 graduate degree credits (semester hours) may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
