Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated Mental Health Clinician II for the Supportive Housing department at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Mental Health Clinician II serves as the senior mental health practitioner and provides assigned lead functions for the program to include coordination and screening of intakes and referrals and completion of all program specific documentation.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides clinical consultation and guidance to staff consistent with their needs as indicated by feedback and supervisor's observations.
Conducts and documents eligibility screenings and clinical assessments, including rehabilitation needs assessments, for program referrals and intakes.
Provides direct care community-based services that are consistent with the philosophy of UBHC and all regulatory and contract requirements.
Collaborates effectively with other staff members, referral sources and social support networks to provide treatment and care for individuals served and families.
Completes forms, correspondence, and reports necessary to secure services, placements, or resources consistent with clinical status and service plan.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in appropriate mental health discipline with active New Jersey certification/independent licensure (LPC, licensed psychologist, LCSW) as required by discipline and New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Two (2) years of post-master's relevant mental health experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Valid driver's license required.
Additional LCADC license.
Previous community-based outreach experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Must be able work at least one (1) evening per week and one (1) weekend day per week.
Must possess own vehicle or alternate means of transportation to outreach individuals served and attend internal and external meetings.
Rotating on-call duties required.
