**Extensive experience in senior care, palliative care or hospice is required**
We Are Hiring Ascension Living has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced physician specializing in senior care, palliative care or hospice to join our team as Chief Medical Officer (CMO)! This position will oversee our senior living and long-term care communities and will be based in either St. Louis or Chicago.

What You Will Do The CMO will be a leader in care transformation in the field of aging, providing innovative and visionary clinical leadership for this complex, multi-campus network of senior care services. The CMO will drive the clinical strategy and goals of Ascension Living, leading the clinical and quality initiatives that sustain the provision of clinical performance, practice standards, cost of service, resident and provider experience. This is an operational and strategic role that will drive our growth in post acute care services.
Facilitates strategic clinical relationships with physicians
Works with leadership to develop a strategic plan for growth of clinical practice
Ensures that clinical programs are in compliance with governmental and regulatory requirements
Implements utilization review and quality improvement systems
Implements educational programs and offerings
May provide medical services to patients in an assigned area
Prepares annual operating budget for assigned service areas
Consults with planning and operations leadership in new program development
Supervise any assigned medical/resident programs
Medical degree, M.D. or D.O., or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of clinical and administrative experience in a relevant, multi-facility, multi-site, complex care delivery environment preferred
A minimum of 5 years professional post-residency experience in direct patient care
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of clinicians and functional specialists in a successful change program involving significant clinical process, practice change, and performance improvement
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine preferred
Experience in palliative and hospice care preferred
