Job Description Summary: Design and meet learning outcomes, and promote students' active participation in their own learning. Create an effective learning environment that fosters students' intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve using discipline-specific thinking strategies. Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles of students. Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes of the course. Help students reach their academic, personal, and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student's ability to learn. Contribute to and provide leadership in the students' academic and professional communities, and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities. Comply with all institutional, accrediting, and regulatory agency policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Phlebotomy Technician Certificate and/or B.A. B.S. in Medical Laboratory Technology. Current National Board Certification 3 years work experience in the field
Preferred Qualifications: At least one year teaching/training experience in phlebotomy Experience in the lecture setting
Other Information: All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.
