The Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor will be responsible for:
Supporting the Department of Medicine's Pulmonary Clinic.
Supervising administrative staff. Interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, developing and disciplining staff as necessary. Organizing work and work processes. Conducting annual performance appraisals and recommending merit increases in conjunction with manager and consistent with Hospital policy. Conducting regular staff meetings. Serving as point person when manager is absent.
Ensuring all Program personnel are trained in Hospital policies and procedures as well as the appropriate features of the Hospital's information systems, including follow-up training and consultations. Ensuring compliance with government regulations (such as DPH, licensure, JCAHO, OSHA, etc.) and third party payor billing requirements. Continually training and cross-training staff on a regular basis.
Organizing and maintaining daily administrative operations of department. Preparing periodic reports and documents to comply with hospital, governmental, regulatory and/or funding agency requirements.
Ensuring patient satisfaction by providing positive and effective customer service. Monitoring and assessing management and operations for patient satisfaction. Recommending and implementing improvements to service.
Participating in budget process by identifying and analyzing trends and patterns and preparing cost projections. Developing proposals to improve cost-effectiveness.
Identifying opportunities to change registration, scheduling and billing processes and procedures to enhance positive patient experience.
Working independently on special projects and providing detailed analyses and reporting on findings as requested by management.
Ensuring integrity of in-house computer system.
To qualify, you must have:
Associate's degree in business or a closely related field; Bachelor's preferred.
Three to four years' experience. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
The analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Completion of hospital's ECES certification awareness program within a year.
Demonstrated knowledge of hospital systems, operations and managed care.
Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.
