Our integrated team is seeking an enthusiastic, independent and compassionate Part-Time Registered Nurse to assist us in a novel enterprise of an onsite employee health clinic, primarily focusing on chronic care management conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidemia, as well as occupational health management. Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver care according to the professional nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome planning, implementation and evaluation.
Document patient care efficiently in the company’s designated electronic medical programs/records.
Assess work injuries and perform first aid as needed; refer to higher level of care as clinically indicated.
Perform drug testing as well as post-accident urine drug tests per Department of Transportation guidelines.
Perform blood draws, vaccinations and medication injections.
Assists health providers with onsite disease management (DM) assessments, documentation and follow-up care.
Manage Workers Compensation injury cases; attend physician office appointments and assist with communication between physician and injured worker; collaborate with insurance adjusters to ensure a seamless process; report claims to insurance carriers.
Provide case management for patients meeting eligibility criteria and patients with plan of care needs to include medication refills, post-surgical complications and referral management
Perform Post-Offer Screenings for new employees, Biometric Screenings and as well as Occupational Health Assessments in accordance with the DOT, ADA, EEOC and HIPAA.
Maintain infection control standards per state and national guidelines; clean/set-up rooms between patient exams.
Perform administrative tasks in support of patient services according to the needs of the clinic and as directed by the Director of Operations.
Complete 10 hours of continuing education/year that focuses on caregiver communication and basics for improving clinical outcomes.
Attend team meetings as directed by Medical Director/Director of Operations.
Maintain open communication with client’s Human Resources Staff and Benefits Department.
Organize and promote wellness programs and initiatives centered on disease/injury prevention.
Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook and Google Suite as well as experience with EMRs
At least 2 years of experience in outpatient clinic setting, preferably in Occupational Health and/or Family Health.
Knowledge of Disease Management (DM) to include, motivational interviewing/coaching, evidenc-based prevention and treatment protocols and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Ability to identify members needing DM services and evaluate, plan and provide individualized care plans
Knowledge of evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirements such as OSHA, Department of Transportation and CDC.
Ability to evaluate and treat all injuries and illnesses within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines.
Ability to assist with accident investigations to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses.
Experience administering injections, vaccinations as well as phlebotomy.
Basic knowledge of Workers Compensation.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Valid Texas Driver’s License, insurance, and ability to travel within the region as required to perform duties.
Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.
Required Education: AAS/Nursing from an accredited college/university. BSN preferred. BLS certification required. Certification in Occupation Health Nursing or Clinical Case Management preferred. DOT Specimen Collection trained; must obtain within the first 3 days of start-date.
Must be able to climb stairs.
Must be able to squat, kneel and bend with balance.
Must be able to lift 25 to 30 lbs.
