The collaborative research group led by Kevin Winthrop, MD, MPH is hiring a Senior Research Assistant to support several of our research protocols involving human subjects. Dr. Winthrops group is based out of the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. This position will contribute to infectious disease epidemiological studies focused on mycobacterial diseases and opportunistic infections associated with rheumatic disease and immunosuppressive therapies. Responsibilities include: 1) independent study database design, 2) submit and maintain study regulatory files and status reports, 3) data acquisition via medical chart abstraction, 4) data analysis and manuscript preparation, 5) perform subject visits including informed consent, and 6) interface with OHSU study team, including providers, other researchers, and external partners, to ensure study milestones are met
The individual in this role will have excellent person-skills, be detail-oriented and able to track multiple projects long-term. There are other opportunities within the group including manuscript review and independent research.

Develop tools for study implementation including electronic database builds, standardized order sheets and study reference materials. Utilize these tools to prepare reports to PI, sub-investigators, sponsors and appropriate monitoring entities.
Develop, maintain and analyze large datasets in support of ongoing clinical epidemiology projects.
Complete special projects under the guidance of one of the group epidemiologists, including chart abstraction, manuscript review, etc.
Act as a liaison for the study with the health care team, other institutions, drug companies, and contracted research organizations (CROs).
Determine patient study eligibility, obtain informed consent, initiate patient randomization, enrollment, and carry out visits with study patients as needed.
Bachelor's degree in related field
1-3 years of experience in clinical research
Strong written, verbal communication and proficiency in MS Office Suite; meticulous record keeping and organization skills. Working knowledge of IRB guidelines.
Masters Degree in Public Health or currently working toward Masters Degree in Public Health
3 years of experience in clinical research including at least 1 year of human subjects research
A working knowledge of FDA, DHHS, other agency guidelines that govern clinical research
Good Clinical Practice certification
This position may include prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and screen time andlifting 25+ pounds.
