The Lab Manager ensures the efficient running of day-to-day operations of the CLIA certified new COVID-19 testing lab at the Kilachand Center. They guarantees the uninterrupted function, integrity and validity of test results by meeting all established standards for accuracy, quality assurance, quality control, and timely results. This position will guarantee Lab meets or exceeds CLIA, OSHA and HIPAA regulatory standards at all times, assure timely completion of analysis for incoming samples review protocols and operational procedures. They will also engage in regular proficiency testing, communicate new protocols and procedures with staff on a timely basis, update and retain regulatory documentation, develop detailed technical reports, and work to develop and optimize the development of protocols for liquid handling robotics. The position acts as Quality Systems Manager and trains and manages lab staff.
Masters or Bachelors degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field required. Minimum of three years of experience in a lab. Commercial Lab experience a plus. Minimum of one year in a supervisory/managerial capacity. Strong attention to detail, computer proficiency, ability to work in a team environment required as well as good technical, oral and written communication and organizational skills.
