As a Biomedical Technician, you will perform tissue culture and aseptic techniques for developing and processing clinical grade and research grade cellular products in accordance to established standard operating procedures (SOP) using cellular, micro- and molecular biology procedures including, but not limited to, Western blot, Northern blot, DNA/RNA, Polymerase chain reaction (PCR), protein extraction, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, and staining.
Performs a variety of cGMP manufacturing production and process development tasks for multiple clients; processes will be different for each project based on the types of cells, tissues or organs
Assists with process development, validation, and qualification for cellular production for multiple cell lines
Writes and maintains proper documentation in laboratory notebooks, data record/transfer, SOPs, and batch records
Drafts SOPs and maintains computer database
Verifies samples received, logs samples into systems, and transports to appropriate environment within the facility for storage
Maintains lab equipment and performs lab maintenance duties including cleaning, sterilization, and keeping maintenance records
Assists cross-functional teams with required testing activities as needed, and contributes to the success of projects by keeping accurate and detailed records of experiments and results
Prepares cGMP production rooms and research space, maintains material inventories, and places orders for equipment and supplies
Assists in the operation of specialized equipment and machinery
Ensures all activities comply with regulatory guidelines and safety standards
