The Financial Aid Sr. Business Analyst serves Cornell University as a resource for the integration of Financial Aid (FA) operational practices and systems; responsible for the business analysis, maintenance, and coordination of complex business systems and processes that integrate data from multiple sources. This position utilizes student data systems to meet the needs of federal, state, and institutional regulatory requirements in support of financial aid application processing, awarding, and audit controls; coordinates annual operational task lists and systems testing; oversees annual functional set-up and audit controls that support: document tracking, needs analysis, budget formulas, external award load, electronic notifications, federal, state, and institutional processing, item type management, aid disbursement as well as reporting and research.
Creative thinking, thought leadership, self-motivation, accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are all critical in this position along with the ability to work under pressure and challenge the status quo.

Bachelor's degree with 5 -7 years programming, business systems administration experience, or equivalent combination. Proven ability to analyze requirements and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to manage multiple assignments in a proactive manner. Experience in the following areas: documenting business requirements; developing project plans and implementing solutions; performance monitoring and tuning of operations processes and business systems; implementing authentication and security controls; troubleshooting end user systems problems. Must be well-organized and attentive to details. Must be able to continuously expand one's knowledge about technology and methods supportive of business processes.
Master's degree. Knowledge of financial aid systems and federal regulations. Demonstrated experience supporting moderately complex systems. Experience using PeopleSoft and ImageNow desirable.
