TheÂ USC Institute of Addiction Science (IAS), the Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science (TCORS), and the Health, Emotion, and Addition Laboratory (HEAL) is seeking a dependable, flexible, detail-oriented individual to fill a full-time Project Assistant position. The Project Assistant will assist with data collection and study procedures for two large cohort studies, including a young adult cohort and a cohort of youth in high school exploring the appeal of several e-cigarette (âvapingâ) products, initiation of product use, and progression to other forms of drug use. This research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and Food and Drug Administration. Specifically, s/he will execute data collection protocols involving collecting, recording, and entering data via face-to-face and phone-based interaction with research participants. This includes administering surveys and interviews at high schools and over the phone to youth and young adults. Employment involves (1) communicating study purpose and objectives, (2) consenting participants and explaining how to complete study procedures, (3) reviewing questionnaire responses and providing high quality data management, (4) contacting participants with missing data, and (5) providing administrative support to the research studies and study manager. Other duties may include support on recruitment materials, website updates, as well as contributing to progress reports and IRB-related documents. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a behavioral research setting, have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, work well as a member of a research team, be able to work independently, be bilingual (English/Spanish), and have good interpersonal skills in relation to interacting with and developing rapport with study participants. The position is full time and requires 5 days/week attendance at our facilities at theÂ USCÂ Health Sciences Campus in Los Angeles, CA.
