The Title IX investigator is responsible for conducting investigations to aid in the resolution of gender-based and bias-motivated discrimination and misconduct complaints among faculty, staff, students and other covered entities within the university community.

Conducts prompt and thorough investigations, assuring appropriate scope and impartiality
Identifies and applies relevant university policies to complaints
Drafts reports detailing investigative steps, findings and evidence and disperses them to all involved parties
Identifies and integrates best practices in Title IX and other student- and employee-related regulatory investigative fields
Investigates and resolves issues which do not rise to a level of a policy violation, but require educational conversation and follow up
Serves as the deputy Title IX coordinator
Delivers presentations, training and other educational programming to faculty, staff and student populations
Communication, Collaboration and Teamwork
Works closely with campus departments to successfully resolve cases
Assists with student and staff training related to Federal, State or other governing bodies’ regulations and mandates
Interviews parties, witnesses and other individuals relevant to the alleged misconduct
Assists with data collection and preparation for reports, presentations and other publications required by law or as requested by appropriate personnel
Assists with training and advising hearing and appeal officers
Planning, Organizing and Accountability
Updates and maintains case files and other records related to complaints
Initiative, Problem Solving and Decision Making
Gathers, reviews and analyzes available data and evidence to determine or recommend findings of responsibility
Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered (additional requirements may be designated by position).
Minimum of 1 year experience conducting administrative and criminal investigations
Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification preferred
Master’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred
Experience as a criminal or civil investigator preferred
Certification or progressive training in sexual misconduct preferred

Knowledge of Title IX, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the Clery Act and annual security reports
Knowledge of Title IX investigations
